Practice information
Last Updated: Wednesday, 24 July 2024The surgery was first established in 1954 shortly after the estate was built. It was founded by Drs Donnelly and Jennings who practised here until their retirement in 1989. It was originally based in Throne Road and moved to the corner of Ampulla Road around 1960.
Our new well-equipped surgery opened on the present site in June 1995 together with the local pharmacy which moved from Hebden Parade. The local dentist built a surgery next to us in 2000. We have recently extended our surgery to provide a new treatment room, work area for GPs and improved car parking.
Clinicians
We are a growing and friendly surgery with three GP Partners, as well as regular sessional GPs, GP Registrars and Foundation Doctors working at the practice. In addition to the doctors, we have multiple Advanced Nurse Practitioners, who can help with minor ailments and prescribe and refer as appropriate.
Nursing team
We also have a nursing team which is made up of three practice nurses and two health care assistants. They are here to deal with a whole range of appointments including annual reviews of long-term health conditions, diagnostic procedures, and contraceptive care.
General Medical Services (GMS) contract
The practice team deliver a full range of clinical services under our General Medical Services (GMS) contract with NHS England.
