Women's Health Hub

In 2020 North Liverpool PCN launched the first fully integrated inter-practice Long-Acting Contraception clinic for primary care in Liverpool. These clinics became the foundation of the Liverpool Women’s Health Hubs. The Liverpool model for Women’s Health Hubs was the key case study published in the Women’s Health Strategy and has become a flag-ship model for many other areas developing similar services.

As your practice is part of the North Liverpool Primary Care Network, we can offer extended access for certain women’s health appointments via our Women's Health Hub! This runs from the Croxteth Family Health Clinic (L11 0BS).

What do we offer?

We provide several services to patients within our network. This includes insertion and removal of LARC (Long-Acting Reversible Contraception, like coils and implants) after an initial phone consultation. We also offer ring pessary insertions and changes, alongside a monthly Saturday Smear clinic. Additionally, we have a specialist HRT service and we can answer more general women’s health inquiries in our telephone clinic.

How can I access the service?

Our service operates from the Croxteth Family Health Clinic. You can access any of our services by simply speaking to your GP receptionists and they should be able to book you in (subject to availability). Alternatively, if you are trying to access our LARC clinic you can self-refer! Just fill in the Coil & Implant Request Form and we will book you in for the initial telephone consultation. If you are due for your ring pessary to be changed you can use this Pessary Request Form and we will be in touch in due course.
